Flour prices go up in Punjab
LAHORE: (Dunya News) – The wheat price rocketed to Rs4,850 per maund with an increase of Rs50 in the open market on Tuesday.
Following the rise in the price of wheat, a 20kg bag of flour in the open market reached Rs2,950.
Shopkeepers are selling a bag of 20kg wheat flour for Rs2,950 while a 10kg bag now costs Rs1,480. A 15kg flour bag is available at Rs2,500.
People are already facing a crunch time due to inflation. The frequent spike in wheat and flour prices has made the commodities unaffordable for people.
Punjab Food Secretary Zaman Watto said the crackdown on wheat mafia was going on.
“Imported wheat is being ordered, it is hoped that the flour prices will be lowered soon,” he said.
